New trip and new furry baby added to the family

It's only been 3 months since the last time I wrote anything on here, which by the gaps between my other posts is actually a really short break! I am currently on my way to Singapore, with 2 hours to go and feeling like I might puke, probably the tiredness, jetlag, 13+ hours in a plane and sleep deprivation, or I'm just having a bad day! It's been more than 9 years since I last visited Asia, although I'll only be in Singapore for 3 days with another 3 in Hong Kong before a 14+ flight to London to connect to get back to Scotland, I'm so fortunate and grateful to have this privilege. I do think 10-11 hours is my limit for no sleep flights and should also plan better my arrival times so I get there in the morning, and can sleep on the flight, oh well, maybe next time...

The AWS Summit in London was fantastic, and I just wrapped up writing a blog around it actually. It's much more my vibe than re:Invent, and since London is 1 hour away, think I'll take that to Las Vegas! The Round the Island Race has also come and gone and it was fantastic and challenging. I think after 3-5 years scarring experiences start to fade and you forget that you vowed never to do it again, which is exactly what I've done... Now I have this in writing, I hope I remember that no, I should not say yes to going on a sailing race of 10+ hours again, it's ok, no FOMO. On the bright side I was on the same boat with a lot of folks I know that do amazing things for our location and my former manager and future employee. It was a truly special weekend and glad we all got back safe!

As for what's next, Japan and our holiday is almost here, I have found a fantastic planning app, thanks to Dave, called TripIt where I organized all our plans and places, we'll be visiting Tokyo, Hakone, Kyoto, Nara and Osaka, and we got the famed JR Pass for the rail transport. Hotels are also booked and we are both super excited to go! The only downside is the furry babies will be staying at home with grandma, that will be taking care of them while we're away for about 10 days, which we feel bad for. That brings me to the new furry baby addition to the family. Meet Marvin, our 4 months old adopted kitten, he's still getting used to his big brother, the husky, but they are getting there and soon they'll be chasing each other and snuggling together. ❤️

I'll see if I can post a summary update of the Asia tour in the next few months, maybe with some pictures, and add a pic of Marv for posterity on the internet archives 😁

Love and light, always xx
