Day 2- 24/08/13

And other day has passed in new and exciting India. Today was eventful and gave us more of a taste of how India actually lives and breathes. When we arrived at the YMCA we were greeted by some very friendly receptionists and somehow managed to finish our check in just before 5 AM, although the bus journey took a little under 2 hours, and then settled in our rooms. I did not want to sleep as I thought that if I keep going until the evening my sleep pattern will adjust itself but how wrong was I. During breakfast we planned to go out exploring and that is exactly what we did, in the heat of the morning we set out to see New Delhi for the first time and we were greeted by a noisy, fast-paced and wonderful city. We all were on the same flight and made friends really fast and that is what I love about having a diverse group, you get to meet people that will inspire you and support you just because you are thrown in life's challenges together. One of our friends, man...

Travelling is my new addiction

Image
Another month has passed and I finally convinced myself to write another post after reading the blog of a very cute and intersting guy I met during my trip to Croatia. Yes, the time I spent there was amazing and I am getting a taste for travelling alone, but this is not the most important thing that happened to me in the last 30 days. First things first, I went to Split and found Croatia to be an amazing country, where I had the luck to find amazing people. Although I was a little worried about how my holiday will go since I was on my own, I do not regret one moment. Split was big enough not to get bored, but small enough to keep the village feel. It had an amazing reservation park, that I went hiking in and ended up on the other side of the peninsula, where I stayed for an entire day, reading and enjoying the sun on the rocky beach. When I came back, I went to Thorpe park with friends from work and it was the best experience ever! I think I am going to go to America just to g...

10 things I love about the UK

Image
Today's post is a sequel of the previous 10 things I love... post and since I was in England for quite some time during the past 2 years since I turned 18 I can make a shortlist of things that I love about it just like in the case of Romania. Even if I travelled on my own when I came to the UK I always found my friends there and even made some unexpected new ones, like the French guy that took me out for a coffee 2 weeks ago just because we were waiting for the rain to stop in the same place. Here it goes, 10 of the reasons why I love the UK: 1. The people, who, contrary to the popular belief, are very "warm", they will always give you a smile and a "You alright?", which always make my day better. They manage to make me smile for no apparent reason just by smiling themselves. I first realized this when I was walking through a park and a nice old couple started chatting to me and I realised how nice it is to have such an unexpected intervention...

Alea iacta est

Follow my blog with Bloglovin In life we take decisions that guide our actions. My actions so far have guided me to a place I didn't even imagine I would go to when I was young. I am not quite sure what I wanted to become as a little girl but I do hope I knew more about it than I do now. At the moment I have so many plans and I want to do so many things that I cannot possibly imagine settling on only one thing for the rest of my days. However, I now know that in two months' time I will no longer be here, in the place I called home for the past 20 years or so, if I count my mum's pregnancy months as well. It is hard to imagine but I know that my decisions are the ones that have lead me onto this path and I also know that in life you must make sacrificies to succeed in finding you true self. I cannot say that I am not excited about living as a student in a new world, a new coun...
