10 years... What happens next?

This time I'm back even sooner, after only 6 months since the last digital letter to the universe (aka blog post) I'm yet again in an airport, life is slowly getting back to what it was pre-pandemic and so is travel, so surprise surprise, my blogging memory is returning too! I think a few years ago I mentioned how airports make me reflect and think a lot about life and everything that happens, that I'm sad, grateful or excited for. Here we are again, more importantly, here we are after 10 years exactly (give or take a few days) from when I moved away from my home country, Romania, and took the biggest leap of faith in myself and the universe making it all happen! It's been a heck of a ride and it brought an immense amount of things, people, places and knowledge I never even dreamt of. Last night, coming back with some of my friends I made through some miraculous match of fates, we were discussing life and youth and doubt and how everyone says your 20s are your best year...

John Butler Trio and my Nottingham trip!

So this is it, the last 2 weeks of university and life in Oxford, for now! I have been trying to do so many things lately that I have not even felt time swiftly passing by! Since I came back from Dublin I have been so immersed in work and university that I have lost it a bit... we all do sometimes, let's just admit it! I have been packing, writing and organizing my life that I reached the point of giving up, nonetheless, one of my good friend's family crest says Press through, a slogan I will always remember because that is what I do! So, I have been saying my goodbyes to friends, work colleagues and lecturers, I have been going out for breakfast, cooking breakfast (pancakes- YUM!) and going out for cocktails, drinks and birthdays, but the best thing I have recently done was- see John Butler Trio live, in concert, in Nottingham!!! They were amazing, the guitar skills of John Butler left me breathless and for almost two hours I was charmed, feeling that my life in England...

Travelling is my new addiction

Image
Another month has passed and I finally convinced myself to write another post after reading the blog of a very cute and intersting guy I met during my trip to Croatia. Yes, the time I spent there was amazing and I am getting a taste for travelling alone, but this is not the most important thing that happened to me in the last 30 days. First things first, I went to Split and found Croatia to be an amazing country, where I had the luck to find amazing people. Although I was a little worried about how my holiday will go since I was on my own, I do not regret one moment. Split was big enough not to get bored, but small enough to keep the village feel. It had an amazing reservation park, that I went hiking in and ended up on the other side of the peninsula, where I stayed for an entire day, reading and enjoying the sun on the rocky beach. When I came back, I went to Thorpe park with friends from work and it was the best experience ever! I think I am going to go to America just to g...

Return of the wanderer

I know it has been a long time since I last posted, aproximately 9 and a half months to be more precise. After I moved to the UK and started university it seems that I got so caught up in the web of my new life that my writing has been trapped in it as well. So many interesting and exciting things have happened, so many lovely people have come into my life and, still, I have not written about them. This post is also due to a new but very good friend of mine with which I was talking last night. It is funny how people can make you remember things you have forgot about even if you enjoyed them so much. I think I will fast forward through the past months and try to highlight some of the most interesting and important things that have happened in my life. It begins with: OCTOBER- Soon after I stopped writing I found myself with a work permit, on my dad's birthday, 10th October, and 4 days after I was happily employed at the Bear, a very nice inn just outside Oxford, where I have ...

The last day

Image
So this is it, here I stand with my friend beside me, after spending my last night at home, with my friends sleeping over. Starting to feel anxious about leaving, bags all packed, lists all checked, goodbye almost all said. I still have some things left to do but they will be enough to keep me busy all day and stop me from thinking about the DEPARTURE. Hope my luggages won't be too heavy and the whole flight will go smoothly, and with a bit of luck this weekend I will already be all settled it in my new house with new housemates. I will have to meet up with some old friends which I am excited about and hope will keep my mind off the things back home. I get by with a little help from my friends :) Full day ahead so will keep the post short. Lots of tears on the way and a lot of things that won't be said but life goes on and you have to seize every opportunity to enjoy yourself along the way.

I think I'm overdoing it...

I just have a little bit of time left at home and I noticed that I am stressing a bit too much about not forgeting anything, making lists and sorting out what I will need at uni... In reality I think I this is my coping mechanism, when I start to get a bit edgy and nervous about something I keep finding things to keep me busy. At the moment, as I try to think how all of my things will fit in my luggage, I cannot seem to stop thinking I need everything I cannot find in England, including a trio of wonderful shower gels (very girly as you will see) made in Germany and of course other things. My desk and room seem to be a bit  crowded as I keep adding things that I want to take but I suppose I will have to give up some of them, not the pet husky and the picture with my favourite man and favourite place in the whole world. I think I will end up taking both things I will absolutly need but also some other useless but priceless things that will help me feel at home. It...
